During the Cup, Plate, and Consolation Competitions, in the event of a draw, extra time will be played until a winner is determined. Extra time will be in periods of five minutes. After each period the teams shall change ends without interval. The team that scores first in extra-time wins the match. Before commencement of extra time the captains shall toss for the right to kick-off or the choice of ends.

Only medically trained persons, other than players and the referees, may enter the playing area. Coaches may brief their teams at half-time at the touch line but the interval will not be extended in order to allow such team talks to be completed. The coach may not enter the field of play nor may the players leave it without the consent of the referee.

A team which is reduced to less than ten players because of injuries may borrow players from a team that has been eliminated playing in the same or inferior competition. A team that borrows a player must retain him as a member of their squad for the remainder of the Tournament unless he is injured. Once the team is eliminated the borrowed player can be used by another team under the same conditions.

Following a team scoring, that team (not the team which conceded the score) will restart play with a drop kick from the half-way line.

If a player is guilty of unsporting behavior by wilfully provoking an opponent before scoring a try In-goal, the try shall be disallowed. A penalty kick shall be awarded five meters from the goal-line on a line parallel to the touch-line through the mark. The player guilty of misconduct must immediately be cautioned.

A player sent from the field, under Law 26, will not be permitted to play again during the Tournament and the referee will submit a written report, through the F.F.R. to the Constituent Body or Rugby Union of which the player's team is a member.

All touch judges are referees and are appointed by the F.F.R. to assist the match official. Law 6B(6) will apply in respect of the reporting of foul play and misconduct to the referee during a match.

The rules of the Tournament, including their interpretation, are matters solely for the Tournament Rules Committee whose decisions will be final.
